Hiking through the old mining community of Opal Creek, I stumbled upon these decomposing trucks literally being overtaken by nature. The juxtaposition of the rusting metal and the lush greenery of the vegetation struck a chord with me. Decades of sitting in one spot have obviously taken its toll, yet the trucks have settled into the place and seem now to belong to the nature that is claiming them. To me, it’s these contrasting elements that make such a dramatic image.
