Oregon’s Alvord Dessert is a desolate place. It is open and exposed and has a heaviness to it; it grounds you. Follow the cracks in the earth and you will discover that they all connect for as far as the eye can see. At the same time, looking up, the absolutely clear sky will carry you away. I wanted to capture the cracks in the ground here because they make me think what the moon might look like if I were to experience it.
